Simple storytelling in wedding album design

Simple storytelling in wedding album design, originally uploaded by Neil Cowley.

Simple visual storytelling in a no-frills layout design pairs three similar photos together for a very elegant, natural ending to the wedding day. Again portrayed visually by varying the widths of the image and changing the angles in the frame. Notice that the cropped frames on the page keep the bright spot out, except in the final resting image where both the bride and groom are at rest.

This freehand layout is very simple to execute while working in inDesign – simply choose your series of photos from your library of candidates and drag them onto the stage. Slide the frames to fit your page. Command+2 to fit your image to frame proportionally if you are using our recommended keyboard shortcuts. Allow your mouse to follow your eye in shortening frames to ‘increase’ the visual ‘velocity’ and highlight one at the largest width, and set your pace-left to right-and don’t feel like it has to be a consistent pace.

  1. Simple design that looks very elegant, something I would try to use in a future layout. Thanks.
